Critical properties of a 2D frustrated magnet with non-magnetic impurities

We report on classical Monte Carlo study of phase transitions and critical behavior a 2D spin-pseudospin model describing dilute magnet with competing charge spin interactions. The static exponents the specific heat correlation length are calculated using finite-size scaling theory in wide range parameters. order is analyzed within energy histogram method. It found that approaching frustration point increasing density non-magnetic impurities leads to non-universal first-order transitions. Features shown depend relationship between parameters pseudospin

We argue that the analysis of Reimers et al. (1992)] of their Monte Carlo data on the Heisenberg pyrochlore antiferromag-net, which suggests a new universality class, is not conclusive. By re-analysis of their data, we demonstrate asymptotic volume dependence in some ther-modynamic quantities, which suggests the possibility that the transition may be first order.
